A bit more about Us

For the past 15 years, I’ve been lucky enough to call central Montana home. What started as a place to land turned into a place that shaped me—one river float, ski lap, and dirt-under-the-fingernails day at a time. Somewhere along the way, the outdoors stopped being just something I enjoyed and became something I felt compelled to share. 

That’s really what this site is about: connection. To places, to experiences, and to that quiet reset that only happens when you step outside and breathe a little deeper. 

A big piece of my story lives on the Missouri River, especially the stretch from Holter Dam down to Cascade. I’ve spent countless days on that water—watching the light change, learning its moods, and coming to appreciate how a river can slow you down in all the right ways. Whether it’s your first float or your fiftieth, that stretch has a way of meeting people exactly where they are. Some days it’s about trout and technique; other days it’s just about drifting, talking, and letting the current do the work. 

When I’m not on the water, you’ll probably find me in the Little Belt Mountains. Those hills have been my backyard classroom—teaching me patience, humility, and the value of being slightly underprepared and laughing about it later. A special chapter of that story belongs to Showdown Ski Area, where cold mornings, fast laps, and chairlift conversations have left a lasting mark. There’s something about a no-frills ski hill that reminds you why you fell in love with winter in the first place. 

I’m passionate about connecting people with the outdoors because I’ve seen what it does—how it brings clarity, confidence, and a little perspective back into busy lives. You don’t need to be an expert, and you definitely don’t need the fanciest gear. You just need curiosity and a willingness to show up.
